Licensed Practical Nurse

Position Summary B Positive is a blood plasma donation facility seeking an experienced LPN/Paramedic to join our growing team as we expand. The role requires availability Monday to Friday and every other Saturday (3 on, 4 off). Candidates will receive five weeks of paid training, competitive pay, and a \$3,000 sign‑on bonus. Job Type Full‑time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Selection of suitable plasmapheresis donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical histories on all donors, and by following FDA‑approved Standard Operating Procedure Manual with detailed attention to communications related to AIDS information and plasmapheresis informed consent, and current State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, all internal company procedures, and personal education and experience. Timely review of accumulated data to confirm established donor suitability, including signing all SPE and RPR results and the related Donor Record File, documenting acceptance or rejection for the donor's continued participation in the program. Assist with management and administration of donor counseling, testing, and follow‑up of employee exposures to blood or plasma. Provide appropriate and confidential counseling to unacceptable donors. Provide appropriate level of care during unusual and moderate to severe donor reactions. Assist in employee training as necessary. Consult with Medical/Laboratory Director as required by company policies. Assist in other areas when needed, such as vitals, donor registration, lab processing, and phlebotomy (if applicable). Report all unsafe situations or conditions to supervisor. Available to travel up to 25 miles to other facility(ies) for training or assisting other center's staffing needs. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Current nursing (LPN) or Paramedic license in good standing for the state applying for. Current CPR and BLS certification. High school diploma or equivalent, associate’s, bachelor’s degree, or higher (documentation required). Required Skills and Abilities Ability to read and write English. Experience with phlebotomy is a plus. Basic proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Word. Legible handwriting. Customer service skills. Punctual, reliable, and possessing reliable transportation. Physical Requirements Read computer screens, procedure manuals, and other documents. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices. Work confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspections. Work in walk‑in, sub‑zero freezer(s). Ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move or support donors. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities required include close vision. Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb, and balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. Physical ability to operate equipment used on donor floor areas that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity. Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
