Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our engineering and QA team in an onsite environment . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in automation testing, software development, API testing, UI testing, CI/CD, and test framework development .

The SDET will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions, identifying defects, improving test coverage, and working closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks .
• Create automated test scripts for web, API, and backend applications.
• Develop and execute functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing .
• Automate UI testing using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools .
• Perform comprehensive REST API and web-service testing .
• Validate API responses, request payloads, authentication, status codes, and data integrity.
• Develop automation using Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C# .
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines .
• Work with development teams to identify root causes of failures and defects.
• Review application requirements and create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies .
• Perform database validation using SQL queries .
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
• Execute automated and manual tests when required.
• Analyze test results, logs, and application behavior.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using tools such as Jira .
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives .
• Collaborate with developers to improve application testability and quality.
• Maintain test documentation, automation scripts, frameworks, and test data.
• Improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
• Support production validation and troubleshooting when required.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in SDET, QA Automation, Software Testing, or Test Engineering .
• Strong programming experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C# .
• Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks .
• Hands-on experience with API automation testing .
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth, and authentication mechanisms .
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or similar API testing tools .
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Experience developing or maintaining automation frameworks from scratch .
• Knowledge of Page Object Model (POM) and other test automation design patterns.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket .
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools .
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC .
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments .
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BDD using Cucumber/Gherkin .
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .
• Experience with microservices testing .
• Experience with Kafka or event-driven architecture testing .
• Performance testing experience using JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner .
• Experience with mobile automation using Appium .
• Knowledge of security testing concepts.
• Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure, Extent Reports, or TestNG reports .
• Experience working with distributed applications and enterprise systems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Onsite Requirement

This is an onsite position. Candidates must be available to work from the client location Monday through Friday and should be comfortable attending an in-person interview if required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a strong software engineer with a testing mindset , capable of writing production-quality automation code rather than relying exclusively on manual testing. The candidate should have strong experience building automation frameworks, testing APIs and UI applications, integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating directly with development teams.
