This role ensures burial operations meet SubCom’s technical, operational, and contractual standards while coordinating closely with contractor vessel teams, SubCom onboard representatives, and marine coordination groups.ResponsibilitiesAct as SubCom’s technical authority for third-party installation vessels.Review and approve contractor documentation, including MOPs, sea trial plans, spare parts lists, and engineering analysesOversee audits of third-party submersible systems to confirm compliance with SubCom standardsOversee plow and ROV cable burial operations to meet contractual and performance requirementsEnsure post-lay and inspection & burial operations achieve specified burial depth and quality criteriaValidate readiness of plow systems, ROV spreads, LARS systems, and all supporting subsea toolingReview burial feasibility, equipment performance estimates, and operational limitsEnsure correct execution of cable crossing procedures and marine exclusion-zone controlsSupport BFS reviews, trial sites, deployment strategies, and readiness checksManage incident reporting and corrective actions to closure for 3rd party vesselsDevelop lessons learned, and recommendations for continuous improvementSupport planning, scheduling, and third-party labor demand management (LDM)Manage SubCom employees and contractor representatives providing oversight on chartered vessels or SubCom equipmentSupport SubCom vessels and subsea equipment as necessaryQualificationsTwo or 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical tradeMinimum ten years working within the Telecom industry, with seven years of offshore experience preferredStrong leadership background in offshore cable installation, plow burial, and subsea trenchingThe ability to operate independently and proactively to address issuesStrong commercial and financial accumenGood communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe applicationsNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
