We are proud to have become a shining example ofwhat'spossible when the brightest professionals dedicate themselves to making a difference in the healthcare industry, and in people's lives.PayWe offer competitive pay and shift differentials depending on scheduleSchedule & IncentivesAPRN positionBenefits program that includes PTO, mental health support, wellness rooms, concierge services and moreAccess toWellstar’s CareerCare programfor fully funded education and guided career progressionJob SummaryAs a Mammography Technologist at Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center, you’ll use your expertise to provide safe, high-quality imaging while helping patients feel informed and supported.This part-time opportunity offers a predictable schedule that supports more flexibility during the week, making it a good fit for someone looking to balance meaningful clinical work with life outside the hospital.Mammography Technologists at Wellstar are respected clinical professionals and essential members of a collaborative care team.If you’re looking for a place where you’re supported and where your well-being, career growth, and voice truly matter, you’ll find it here.Required QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalentCompletion of an accredited Radiologic Technology programExperienceMinimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic TechnologistMinimum 1 year of mammography experience in a hospitalCertificationsARRT-R (Radiography)ARRT-M (Mammography)BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart AssociationCore ResponsibilitiesPerform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly (AIDET) to reduce anxiety.Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed.Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients.Use sound clinical judgment, clarify unclear orders (including RBAC for verbal orders), and assist in emergencies or across imaging areas when needed.Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean and ready per infection control/FDA guidelines.Perform and document required ACR/MQSA QC tests including Phantom, Visual Checklist, Repeat Analysis, Compression Pressure, Compression Thickness, Flat Field Test, Calibration and DICOM Printer Test.Ensure all images are accurately labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture for procedures.Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; apply shielding and immobilization devices appropriately.Provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions, address questions or escalate to providers, and support training of new team members.Maintain concise, timely documentation; stay current with emails and required education.Communicate professionally, work well in a fast-paced team, and bring strong skills in anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and mammography best practices.
