We are seeking to build a pool of candidates for future Steward Floater (Dishwasher Floater) positions to join our rapidly growing team. This position will work in multiple locations and will not have a set schedule. The Opportunity As a Steward Floater, you will provide exceptional customer service and support the quality of service extended to guests, students, faculty and staff on a daily basis. You will primarily perform daily maintenance duties and maintain the cleanliness of the dining facility, both front and back of the house, ensuring our high sanitation standards are met. The Accountabilities Provides customer services to faculty, staff, students and guests. Maintains cleanliness of facilities, equipment, tools, utensils, including a three‑compartment sink, dishwashing machine, floor scrubbing and carpet cleaning; performs safe handling procedures for all chemicals related to job duties. Maintains perpetual inventories of maintenance supplies under the supervision of management. Performs general maintenance work. Assists in kitchen sanitation program; complies with standard food handling and sanitation procedures. Adheres to department service standards and to all health, safety and University rules and regulations. Attends and participates in meetings as required. Reports to station, ready to work at the time work assignment is scheduled to begin. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested; the University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Requirements Minimum Education: High school diploma not required. Minimum Experience: 0–6 months. Minimum Certifications: ServeSafe certification valid California Food Handler Card or obtain card within first 30 days of hire. Minimum Skills: Demonstrated customer service experience; experience working in a fast‑paced environment; knowledge of all cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and general maintenance repair work; ability to effectively communicate in English; ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Experience: One year in a restaurant or high‑volume banquet and catering operation.
