System Engineer II, System EngineeringThe Global Hawk Field Service Support team is seeking System Engineer II, System Engineering for our multi-disciplinary test team at the Global Hawk integration and test site located in Rancho Bernardo CA. In this key role, you will support and guide complex test operations, ensuring the successful planning, development, and execution of system tests. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system engineering principles, software, and proven expertise in test processes and methodologies, and travel to provide backfill support for both US Air Force (AF) and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Global Hawk shelters located both CONUS and OCONUS. Travel is expected to be 25 percent of the time.What You Will DoCandidate will work with a small team to maintain integrated ground segment equipment during laboratory Integration and Test as well as AF And FMS flight programs to for operational evaluation and other flight test objectivesPerform system maintenance and upgrades as well as troubleshooting problemsInstall and troubleshoot experimental HW/SW, provide feedback to engineering and work with offsite engineering in a collaborative mannerTroubleshooting will include industry standard IT systems as well as program specific hardware, software, and proceduresWork closely with customer representatives to provide status and integrate customer changesProvide solutions and find ways to make test activities more efficient and effectiveQualifications You Must Have:Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.2 years' experience as a system administrator or development/support in Linux, Solaris, Irix or another Unix environmentExperience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies.Typically requires bachelor's degree in STEM field and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws /regulations.Requires short-term assignments to both CONUS and OCONUS locations for operational support.Qualifications We Prefer:Possess communication skills necessary for problem resolution with military/corporate customers and vendors.Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizationsStrong teamwork skills – Ability to interact productively with other Raytheon Technologies Field Engineers and customers in a team setting.Work independently to develop timely and effective solutions to technical problems of various scopes and complexity.Work experience with the USAF, FMS, or other DoD organizationsWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
