Principal Engineer - Site Development & Integration

Job Overview We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for the Tactical Radars and Effectors department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering. The role is onsite, based at 1001 Boston Post Rd, Marlborough, MA, and requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance. Responsibilities Develop, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, models, and designs from verbal directions, hand‑drawn sketches, and existing hard copy drawings. Generate conceptual layouts for notional facility systems using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Revit. Support site surveys for facility infrastructure solutions. Develop facility requirements and design development documents for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements. Collaborate with Architect/Engineering (A/E) contractors on the facility design effort. Review and approve shop drawings and construction specifications. Document and manage action items, field issues, and change requests, coordinating with home office engineering, equipment suppliers, and onsite teams. Coordinate work activities with Raytheon, Government, and subcontractors. Maintain extensive knowledge of DoD codes and standards, including Unified Facility Codes (UFCs) for site installations. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, including trips of several weeks in duration. Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience. Experience leading a team with cost and schedule responsibilities. Experience working across multiple product lifecycle stages of a radar production program. Experience working across multiple functional and discipline organizations to resolve technical challenges. Experience with drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD. Experience with building codes for commercial, industrial and military/Department of Defense facilities. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance – U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or hardware system design. Experience working with and developing Facility Requirement Documents. Comfortable working in a high‑energy environment with multiple concurrent and quick‑turn deadlines. Willingness to learn and desire to overcome challenges to achieve individual and team success. Strong written and oral communication; strong attention to detail and orientation to produce high‑quality work products. Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software. Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team. Benefits The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
