About the Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to help lead the daily operations of our Ohio distribution facility. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, this position will help oversee employees, coordinate receiving and shipping, maintain inventory accuracy, promote a safe workplace, and keep daily operations running efficiently.

This is a working leadership position and an important part of the warehouse management team. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading employees while also working alongside them on the warehouse floor, operating a forklift, solving problems, and stepping in wherever needed.

As the Warehouse Manager's second-in-command, the Assistant Warehouse Manager must be capable of making sound day-to-day decisions and independently leading the operation when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Supervise, train, coach, and hold warehouse employees accountable for safety, productivity, attendance, accuracy, and company standards.
• Coordinate receiving, put-away, picking, staging, loading, and shipping activities.
• Prioritize daily workloads and ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Monitor inventory movement and support accurate inventory control, including counts and cycle counting.
• Ensure receiving, shipping, inventory movements, and related system transactions are completed accurately and on time.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when needed.
• Assist with forklift training, inspections, and other warehouse safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Identify and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and operational issues.
• Assist with employee scheduling, attendance, performance, and training.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Help establish and maintain effective warehouse processes, workflows, and operating standards.
• Monitor daily warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, safety, organization, and workflow.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Logistics, and other departments to keep warehouse activities aligned with customer and business needs.
• Assist with facility and equipment needs, including coordinating maintenance when necessary.
• Serve as the primary warehouse leader when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable.
• Perform other warehouse and operational duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Previous experience leading or supervising warehouse employees required.
• Strong forklift experience; forklift certification or trainer experience is a plus.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and day-to-day warehouse operations.
• Ability to lead employees while maintaining a hands-on approach.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers, scanners, and warehouse, inventory, or ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of warehouse operations.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and willing to step in and help wherever needed.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, logistics, or business education is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to work additional hours when needed to support customer requirements, inventory needs, or other operational priorities.

Work Environment

This is an on-site, hands-on warehouse leadership position. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will regularly work on the warehouse floor and should be comfortable working around forklifts, trucks, warehouse equipment, and varying temperatures.
