Job Title: Histotechnician Profession: Histotechnician Specialty: Histology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Evenings Hours per Shift: 11 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred; 3 years preferred License: Not required for submission Certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP, Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP Must-Have: Routine Histology (Embed, Microtomy) Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Special Stains Digital Pathology Detail-oriented Description: The position requires experience in routine histology. Candidates will perform embedding and microtomy procedures. Immunohistochemistry and special stains are essential duties. Experience with digital pathology is preferred. Attention to detail is crucial for this role. This shift work is on Wednesday through Sunday. Weekends and holidays are required as staffing needs dictate. No self-scheduling is allowed. Candidates must be specialized as generalists and have no phlebotomy requirements. Experience with Epic Beaker for LIS tracking is required. A Technical Coordinator oversees operations, reporting to the Lab Director. Orientation includes organization onboarding on the first day and lab specifics on the second. The position may involve cancellation of shifts if necessary, up to four for a 13-week assignment.
