Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $139,800 - 202,800 per year Requirements:

• We require strong expertise in Python and SQL, along with other scripting languages such as Ruby, and a solid grasp of software architecture principles for building scalable systems.
• We look for hands-on experience with artificial intelligence concepts, including using AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency, as well as the ability to apply AI-enabled solutions to business problems.
• We need proven capability in designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, and maintainable back-end code that satisfies business and technical needs.
• We value initiative and independence in problem-solving, including the ability to turn broad requirements into clear technical goals.
• We seek adaptability, with a track record of quickly learning new languages, tools, and technology stacks and applying them to changing business priorities.
• We require excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas and business requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We prefer knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, although it is not mandatory.
• We require U.S. work eligibility, as we will not sponsor visas for this position.
• We require one of the following STEM backgrounds and experience levels: a bachelors degree with 7+ years of relevant hands-on industry experience, a masters degree with 4+ years of relevant hands-on industry experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant hands-on industry experience.

• We design and deliver scalable back-end software solutions that support advanced insurance analytics products and services.
• We build and maintain reliable, high-performing back-end systems for insurance analytics applications.
• We design, develop, and support extensible back-end services and web applications with an emphasis on architecture, scalability, and reliability.
• We contribute to technical design discussions and provide expert guidance across the back-end technology stack.
• We conduct code reviews and technical assessments to uphold code quality, maintainability, and engineering standards.
• We create and maintain unit and end-to-end tests to support system reliability and performance.
• We work closely with product, data science, and machine learning partners to convert business needs into technical solutions.
• We assess new tools and technologies and recommend improvements to our back-end stack.
• We own key components of back-end development and apply strong technical judgment and collaboration throughout delivery.
