Investment Funds Venture Capital & Growth Equity Associate

Overview The Bay Area and Los Angeles offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP are actively seeking an attorney with outstanding credentials and qualifications to join our Investment Funds Group, with an interest in focusing on venture capital and growth equity sponsors. The ideal candidate will have experience with the formation, structuring, fundraising and operation of venture capital, growth equity, and other investment vehicles. This attorney will work closely with market-leading venture capital and growth equity sponsors on a broad range of matters, including fund formation and fundraising, sponsor governance and ownership arrangements, management company and general partner structuring, succession planning, compensation and economics arrangements, strategic transactions involving asset managers, and other operational and regulatory matters affecting investment management platforms. Compensation is based upon the roles and responsibilities of the position, the experience and education of the applicant and/or employee and is aligned with internal pay equity within Kirkland & Ellis LLP itself. The hiring salary range for this position is between $260,000 to $390,000. These figures are not representative of the full compensation range for this position. Responsibilities Advise on the formation, structuring, fundraising and operation of venture capital, growth equity, and other investment vehicles. Collaborate with market-leading sponsors on fund formation and fundraising, sponsor governance and ownership arrangements, and related strategic matters. Assist with management company and general partner structuring, succession planning, and compensation/economics arrangements. Support strategic transactions involving asset managers and address other operational and regulatory matters affecting investment management platforms. Qualifications 3–6 years of corporate experience at a leading national or international law firm. Experience with formation, structuring, fundraising and operation of venture capital, growth equity, and other investment vehicles. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $260,000 – $390,000, with compensation based on the roles and responsibilities, experience, and education of the applicant and aligned with internal pay equity.
