Description of the Role

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an open world action adventure game set in a captivating space opera universe. It is also the direct prequel to the classic of 2003! Thanks to the technological advancement brought by our proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to offer an organic and seamless experience of space exploration and piracy on a solar system scale, where players can discover exotic locations, colorful characters, and many mysteries to uncover solo or with friends. What you will do:

We are opening a Lead QA position within our Quality department. We are looking for a leader with a strong human sense, capable of rethinking our processes and supporting the team on a daily basis.

Under the supervision of Liviu-Ioan the Quality Project Manager, you will work in tandem with the lead technical.

Missions:

• Direct and organize the QA team activities: clear objectives, prioritization, planning, resource allocation.
• Redesign, implement and maintain the QA processes (test strategy, acceptance criteria, traceability, reporting).
• Collaborate closely with Development teams, the other lead QA and the QA team to continuously improve the pipelines.
• Provide regular reports on the quality status and project risks; proactively alert and propose action plans.
• Implement targeted actions to identify, prioritize and clarify blocking/disruptive bugs and secure their fixes.
• Build a positive team culture: motivation, recognition, spirit of cooperation, team ritual, transparency.
• Support individual journeys: continuous feedback, performance reviews, training needs and skill development.

Important: The role prioritizes management and processes. A basic QA background is acceptable if you have strong leadership and organizational skills.

Your future work environment:

You will join a team of about 10 to 12 people.

You will become the managerial reference of the QA department, at the heart of the project, with a co-lead technical to support you on tooling and technical testing issues. You will collaborate daily with Liviu-Ioan (your manager) and the dev and production teams, in a multi-studio environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in team management (ideally on teams of similar size).
• Operational knowledge of QA tools and methods (bug management, databases, test plans, strategies, prioritization).
• Comfort with tracking tools (e.g. Jira) and testing methodologies; ability to design/optimize test cases and reports.
• Fluent English (multi-studio context).
• Technical aptitude: understanding of environments, platforms, QA tooling; the most technical part is covered by the co-lead technical.
• Preferred: knowledge of consoles and build pipelines, networking/online services, exposure to game engines and/or scripting.

Soft skills (what we expect from you):

• Leadership: sense of the collective, ability to rally and maintain a positive team dynamic.
• Pedagogical communication: making sense, explaining the 'why', aligning teams.
• Initiative & autonomy: ramp-up over 6 months, then high autonomy.
• Rigor: tracking of priorities, Jira, rituals, indicators.

But most importantly, you will bring your positive energy to the team on a daily basis!

• Interview 1: Discovery (1h, via video): an exchange with a member of the recruitment team to get to know you better and check the suitability of your background with our expectations.
• Interview 2: Technical (1h, via video): a discussion with the Quality Project Manager of the team, more focused on the technical aspects, to get into the specifics and speak the same language.

In the context of our recruitment, a second technical exchange may be requested by the teams.

• Phase 1: Discovery of expectations, vision and project framing with the Quality Project Manager.
• Phase 2: Immersion and technical discovery, teams and tools with the second Lead QA Analyst.
