Role Description The Project Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for carpentry and construction projects, reviewing drawings and specifications, and collaborating with stakeholders to clarify scope and requirements. This role oversees project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within approved budgets. Daily activities include quantity take-offs, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes, tracking project costs and change orders, and maintaining clear communication with clients, field crews, and management. The position also requires monitoring project progress, updating forecasts, and providing regular status reports to support decision-making. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chicago, IL. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills to prepare accurate bids and detailed scopes of work. Candidates should possess solid Cost Management and Budgeting skills to track expenses, control costs, and maintain profitability throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with clients, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders. Candidates should possess proficiency with construction software and tools (e.g., estimating software, project management platforms, MS Excel) and basic knowledge of building codes and carpentry practices. Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant experience in construction project management or estimating, particularly in carpentry or related trades, is highly beneficial.
