About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - IR experience is a plus - Must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes - Weekend shifts require 4 shifts per contract - Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays Description: This position involves working in a Cath Lab setting. Nurses will focus on care for adults and geriatric patients. The daily census includes scheduled cases, with averages ranging from 3 to 9 cases. Nurses will perform procedures such as left heart catheterizations and right heart catheterizations. The unit handles various patient diagnoses, including ST elevated MIs and non-ST elevated MIs. Medications such as nitroglycerin, epinephrine, and thrombolytics will be used. Special equipment will include hemodynamic monitoring systems and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and pharmacy. On-call responsibilities will be based on unit needs. Candidates should have experience with various cardiac procedures and monitoring systems.
