Accounting Cost Analyst

Job Title: Cost AccountantLocation: Waverly, IowaSalary: $85-115KJob Summary of the Cost Accountant: The Cost Accountant is responsible for evaluating profit margins, aiding in financial tasks, managing inventory, and presenting findings. Supports the accounting team during monthly closings and other duties.Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:Assist in month-end and year-end financial closings, focusing on inventory balance and other entries. Analyze profit margins and share results with relevant teams. Collaborate with manufacturing plants on various processes.Utilize cost analysis techniques toward inventory management and profit reporting. Examine manufacturing costs and identify areas for improvement. Help calculate work center rates.Review completed orders and address any significant discrepancies. Conduct annual cost roll process and provide insightful analysis.Other duties, special projects, and analysis as assigned.Education & Experience Requirements of the Cost Accountant:Bachelor’s degree in an accounting-related field preferred. 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in cost accounting required.ERP experience – SAP, Deacom, NetSuite, Epicor. Prior customer service experience. Strong communication skills and familiarity with MS Office suite, including QuickBooks.Knowledge of ERP systems, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Skills in operating office equipment and maintaining accurate records.
