Senior Cost Accountant

Kforce's client, a growing manufacturing organization in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support plant operations and drive data-driven decision-making. This role partners closely with production and finance leadership to enhance cost visibility, improve efficiencies, and ensure strong inventory and manufacturing controls. This client offers salary and benefits, opportunity for growth, and culture driven environment. The position scheduled as full-time in office. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials and finished goods
- Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable recommendations
- Support month-end close (journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis)
- Review bills of materials, production processes, and cost allocations
- Partner with operations to evaluate direct and indirect manufacturing costs
- Develop reporting on production performance, cost trends, and efficiencies
- Assist with budgeting, audits, and ad hoc projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in cost accounting; manufacturing exposure preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate financial insights to cross-functional teams
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Experience with ERP/reporting tools (e.g., JDE, Cognos, OneStream) a plus
