Senior Design Engineer

Senior Design EngineerPrice Industries Inc. is on the search for a Design Engineer for our growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Suwanee, GA. This position will lead the design, test and release of new product.Responsibilities:Understand and comply with safety standard requirement.Initiate and lead design FMEAs, design reviews, and preproduction builds with multi-discipline development teamManage the creation of internal and external design documentation including bill of materials and submittalSupport the collection and evaluation of product costSupport the development, design, and production of new and existing HVAC equipmentDesigning and modifying sheet metal housings, panels, coil and fan assembliesPerform coil, fan, and heater selections with vendor softwareSize components and validate selectionsBalance performance, manufacturability, cost, and serviceabilityEvaluate test data and implement appropriate actionsCreate clear engineering documents such as BOMs and parts detailsSupport prototype builds, lap testing and performance validationsDrive design improvements from concept through productionTake ownership of specific sub-systems and modelsMentor junior engineers and draftersEffectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsQualifications:B.S in Engineering (emphasis in Mechanical or equivalent)Strong computer-based skills and proficiency with 3D CAD and MS Office applicationsProficiency in Excel engineering calculations and data analysisTime management across multiple projectsExperience in sheet metal manufacturing in HVAC industry preferenceBasic understanding of FEA using Solidworks SimulationUnderstanding of design for manufacturability conceptsUnderstanding of PDMWorking knowledge of UL/ETL safety standards preferredStrong interpersonal, communication, organization and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement changeTechnical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detailAbout Price IndustriesWe are the leading provider of non-residential air distribution products across North America.
