Research Assistant Professor - Immunoengineering

Overview The William A. Brookshire Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Cullen College of Engineering, University of Houston, invites applications for a non‑tenure‑track Research Assistant Professor specializing in immunoengineering. The successful candidate will conduct experimental research, supervise junior researchers, collaborate on and lead research proposal development to secure external funding, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and contribute to the department’s mission of academic excellence. Relevant focus areas include immunoengineering approaches for cancer and autoimmune diseases, antibody discovery and development, cell‑based therapies, and immunomaterials such as engineered nanoparticles for delivery. The position offers access to modern research facilities, annual expenditures exceeding $10 million, and a vibrant graduate program with over 100 PhD students. Responsibilities Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments in immunoengineering. Develop proposals to secure external funding. Collaborate with faculty and supervise graduate, undergraduate, post‑doctoral, and technician staff. Present research results at conferences and participate in departmental/college committees. Qualifications Ph.D. in Biomolecular Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline. At least two years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent industry experience. Strong record of scholarly productivity (published research). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
