Company Description Based in the heart of downtown Lowell, Massachusetts Lowell Community Health Center is currently seeking a Full-Time Nurse Manager in our Adult Medicine/Access Departments. With over 400 employees, the Health Center has expanded and relocated to a new state-of-the-art facility as of December 2012. The Health Center is a diverse, community-based health care organization. The Health Center was also named one of the top five health centers in the nation for excellence in cultural competency. More than 90% of Lowell CHC patients are low income, and 46% are best served in a language other than English. Since opening our new comprehensive facility in a renovated mill on Jackson Street in 2012, more than 9,000 additional patients have turned to Lowell CHC for a full range of primary care, including OB‑GYN and behavioral health services for adults and children, with over 176,000 visits in 2014. We also have a Pharmacy serving health center patients and others in the community Job Description The Nurse Manager is responsible for clinical oversight of the Adult Medicine and the Access Department. The manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and culturally appropriate care and services to our patients. The manager will work collaboratively with the Director, the medical staff and other departments to ensure that the goals of the Health Center are accomplished. General Provide excellent customer service to all patients and staff In conjunction with the Director develop and update departmental standard operating procedures Generate reports and tracking mechanisms to assess departmental performance Participate in designated LCHC committees and projects Staff Management Coach, mentor and teach staff to ensure that they are performing to their highest potential Provide timely and relevant performance evaluations to staff in accordance with LCHC policy and supervisor expectations Works with Director to manage clinical workflow within the two department Disseminates and interprets information to assure that new and existing employees are familiar with policies, procedures, and expectations for their job role Work with departmental supervisors and leads to create and maintain appropriate staff and provider schedules Establish an environment which fosters teamwork and open communication Clinical Work with other clinical departments to ensure effective communications and transitions of care Ensure that all clinical and nonclinical documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner Ensures that care coordination activities are being performed including obtaining documentation such as follow up of hospitalizations, ER visits, and other medical and behavioral documentation Demonstrates clinical competence and professional commitment in Nursing Practice by adhering to established standards of practice and utilizing appropriate scientific principles and monitors clinical staff as such Works with the Clinical Quality Department to ensure that the department’s clinical quality measures are in line with organizational expectations Provide direct patient care on limited schedule as needed Fiscal Provides input to the budget development and management of the department In collaboration with the Director the nurse manager is responsible for ensuring department achieves or surpasses visit volume and revenue projections Qualifications The Nurse Manager will have a background in clinical management. He/she must be a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or hold other clinical qualifications. A current CPR certification is required. A minimum of three to five years management experience in an adult ambulatory care or inpatient setting is required. Excellent computer skills and experience with an electronic medical record system is highly desired.
