Job Title

Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Neuro/Ortho Spine)

Location

New Orleans, LA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care with a focus on neuro and ortho spine service lines, including craniotomy procedures
• Participate in neuro call as required by the unit
• Support additional service lines such as general surgery, ENT, and robotics as needed
• Adhere to facility emergency team protocols, which may include remaining on-site or serving on a relief team during declared emergency events, as directed by the unit manager
• Maintain availability to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and staff rotation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in neurological surgery and ortho spine in an operating room setting
• Must not be a first-time traveler
• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• AHA certifications required
• Current NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission date)
• 2 Manager/Supervisor references (in PDF format) required prior to contract start; Charge RN references are not accepted
• Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on file with the driver's license) to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in general surgery, ENT, and/or robotic-assisted surgical procedures
• Familiarity with facility-based onboarding module completion processes
