About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 12 Hours - Nights Hours per Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Skills in Labor, Postpartum, and Nursery care are required. - Experience working in a Labor and Delivery unit is essential. Description: The unit has 8 LDRP beds and 2 triage beds. There are no operating room suites on the unit for C-sections. The unit accommodates 8 postpartum beds. There are approximately 25 births per month. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios. Nurses are required to titrate Pitocin only. Patients typically present with common diagnoses suited for a level 1 nursery, caring for infants 35 weeks or greater. Charge nurses do take assignments while overseeing nursing activities. There are no nurse aides or surgical techs on this unit. An OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7. Anesthesia is also not available in-house 24/7. Respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP, is available. There are no telemetry or monitor techs, and RNs are responsible for reading their own strips. The unit uses an EFM system for monitoring. Block scheduling will be accommodated to group shifts together. Weekend and holiday work is required. There is no call or standby requirement. Scrub colors may vary, with options for personal scrubs or supplied gray OR scrubs. The cancellation policy allows for client cancellation up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.
