Personal Banker Associate I

GENERAL FUNCTION Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4‑8 week on‑boarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. A certification will be awarded at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully perform in the Retail Personal Banker job family. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain extensive knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products and services, recommending solutions using our value proposition. Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Focus on cross‑selling to the existing customer base and engaging in outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events. Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and refer customers for holistic financial solutions. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals, enhancing year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L. Provide guidance to CSRs with respect to the sales and referral process. Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism, answering customer questions and owning customer issues. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility, keeping all business confidential and following the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Adhere to established policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of Retail products and participating in the consumer loan and bankcard process from application through closing. Participate in opening/closing processes of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the Financial Center Manager. Keep up to date on Retail procedures designed to mitigate fraudulent activity and reduce risk or exposure. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED College degree or work experience providing transferrable skills, or a combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households and small business customers and/or cross‑selling to established customers. Proficient in advanced math functions to analyze credit and financial information. Professional appearance and verbal/written communication skills. Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound decision‑making. Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment with extended computer screen viewing. The program requires travel within the affiliate for training, with flexibility for scheduling and potential travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
