Overview Matheny Medical and Educational Center is a fully‑accredited non‑profit private hospital and school that provides integrated, personalized care and education for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. The facility includes a 24‑hour inpatient unit, licensed community residences, adult learning centers, and an arts access program. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all unit staff, including nurses, across all shifts and coordinate with the Director of CSS for CSS staffing needs. Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient needs and maintain a supportive, motivating environment. Participate in hiring, terminations, counseling, guidance, and disciplinary actions for nurses and CSS staff. Assign duties, coordinate services, and ensure patients receive proper medical care through accurate care plans. Stay current on nursing best practices and conduct research to support evidence‑based care. Plan and conduct staff training, oversee annual nurse competency, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families. Maintain communication among team members, resolve problems, and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Supervise and evaluate staff performance, conduct annual reviews, and provide emotional support as needed. Ensure availability of required equipment, inventory, and supplies. Help develop the departmental budget by evaluating staffing, equipment, and supply needs. Enforce infection control, medication storage, and controlled substance policies. Audit documentation for accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to regulations; uphold integrity of medical records. Interpret and enforce New Jersey Board of Nursing and other governing agency standards, including Joint Commission and CMS requirements. This figure is a good‑faith determination and may be adjusted based on factors such as location, experience, credentials, and internal equity. Salary and benefits are reviewed annually and may vary at the time of offer. Position Requirements Associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution is preferred or equivalent years of experience. Licensed Registered Professional Nurse by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Current CPR certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Nurse Manager certification preferred. Experience working with developmentally disabled populations preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
