As a Nurse Practitioner within North Central Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. After extensive orientation and appropriate training, the FNP will operate independently under a written nurse protocol agreement with the delegating physician, conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel clients. May prescribe medication in some cases.Please note this role requires travel and candidates should be willing and able to travel to various locations throughout our 13-county district as needed. Employees in this role are eligible to receive mileage compensation for work-related travel.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide Advanced Nursing Care: Deliver specialized nursing services and patient care in accordance with established clinical guidelines and protocols.Conduct Patient Assessments: Perform comprehensive physical examinations, assess patient health status, and identify healthcare needs.Develop Treatment Plans: Provide appropriate treatment, manage patient health concerns, and offer counseling and education to promote overall health and wellness.Manage Medication and Prescriptions: Prescribe medications when authorized and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and established nurse protocolsPerform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing and two (2) years of nursing experience and Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse and Georgia license as a APRN and current certification in specialty area and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Advanced Practice RN 1 (HCP200) or position equivalent.Additional InformationThe DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.
