Job Description This position requires a BSc/ MSclevel scientist tomaximizetheimpact andproductivityofthe ChemicalBiology and Mass Spectrometryand Technologies(CB&MST)teamforgenerationofdata todrivepipeline decisions.This scientist will work collaborativelywith team memberstotransition routine,low throughput sample preparationproceduresfortarget validation,targetengagement, and off-target profilinginto high precision / high throughputprocedureswith a focus in proteomics preparation methodologies and plate-based proteomics sample prep. Thesuccessfulcandidate willcollaborate with teammates tooptimizeandperformautomatedsamplepreparationmethodologies andconduct mass spectrometry-based proteomicsexperimentstoenablethis transformation. Key Responsibilities Work with team members to develop,validate,andimplementautomatedsample preparationworkflows for CB&MST activities, with an emphasis on plate-basedproteomics sample preparationusing cell lines, tissues and other biological matrices. Develop methods to automate chemical biology sample prep usingmagnetic bead-based enrichments andliquid handling. Collaborate with team members to establish, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for routine workflows. Operate, monitor, and assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation and associated laboratory equipment. Assist with data processing, quality assessment,and data interpretation. Interface andcollaboratewith colleaguesand project teams in therapeutic areas to determine appropriatesamples and amounts required for studies. Qualifications Basic Bachelors or Masters inchemistry, biochemistry,chemical biology or related field with typically 3-5+ (BS), or 0-2+ (MS) years of experience. Hands-on bench skills for preparing samples for mass spectrometry, with a focus in proteomics sample preparationfrom cell lines and tissues. Ability to generate proteomics samples in 96-well platesandrunsamples on LC-MS instrumentation. Ability to workproficientlywithlaboratoryequipmenttypically found inachemical biology, biochemistry, or molecular biologylaboratory. Demonstrated ability totroubleshootand diagnose problems withcommonlaboratoryequipment. Preferred ExperienceutilizingLC/MSforproteomicsincludingcurrent models of Thermo and Bruker mass spectrometers. Experience with automation such as the Agilent Bravo, Thermofisher KingFisher,and Opentrons Flex. Ability to conductdifferent types of proteomics experiments including whole proteomics, phosphoproteomicsimmunoprecipitationproteomics,andtargeted MS,etc. Experiencein basic biochemistryand molecular biology techniquesincludingplate-basedassays,SDS-PAGE, western blotting,andmammaliantissue cultureis desired. Ability to conductbead- and probe-basedchemical biologyexperimentsthat utilize proteomics as a readout. Ability to effectively use AI to increase personal and team productivity.
