This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire. The Park Maintenance Worker II reporting location is 4150 Patrick's Point Drive, Trinidad, 95570 at Sue-Meg State Park Maintenance Shop. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor.

This position has shared responsibility for maintenance and housekeeping functions and will work with and provide lead direction to permanent and seasonal maintenance staff maintaining and improving land, structures, and facilities at Sue-meg State Park, Trinidad State Beach, Humboldt Lagoons State Park, Harry A. Merlo State Recreation Area, Azalea State Reserve, Fort Humboldt State Historic Park, and other park units within the Redwood Coast Sector South as assigned. This position performs skilled structural and system maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, roofing, welding, light and heavy equipment operation, and other maintenance duties as required. The position leads and coordinates subordinate staff in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of park facilities, park water and sewer systems, campsites, park roads, park trails, electrical systems, and propane systems. Administrative duties include assisting with purchasing and procurement, regulatory compliance documentation, data collection and entry, work planning, project coordination, safety meetings, training of subordinate staff, and other responsibilities as assigned.
