Marketing Designer

JOB PURPOSE

The Marketing Designer supports World Challenge’s marketing efforts by creating compelling, mission-aligned design across email, digital, print, web, and social channels. This role helps bring the ministry’s stories and campaigns to life visually while ensuring a consistent and recognizable World Challenge brand across every touchpoint.

Responsibilities include designing graphics and selecting imagery for marketing campaigns, building and maintaining email templates, and supporting app content, the monthly newsletter, social media, and other digital communications.

Working closely with the Marketing Specialist and Design Team, the Marketing Designer helps turn marketing strategy and campaign concepts into effective creative materials that clearly communicate World Challenge’s mission and connect donors and partners to the work happening around the world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design

• Design graphics and select imagery for email, mail, digital, web, and social media campaigns.
• Maintain World Challenge brand standards across campaign and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with the Design Team to ensure visual consistency across print and digital channels.
• Support the Creative Project Manager and Lead Writer in developing creative assets for integrated campaigns.
• Prepare and optimize creative assets for use across digital platforms.

Email Marketing & Digital Production

• Design and build email templates for e-newsletters, campaigns, appeals, and other donor communications.
• Partner with the Marketing Specialist to execute the donor email pipeline supporting engagement, retention, and conversion goals.
• Support email testing and optimization, including subject lines, send timing, segmentation, and creative approaches.
• Monitor list health, deliverability, and list hygiene across email platforms.
• Review email and digital communications for visual quality, functionality, and effectiveness.
• Review donation pages and digital funnels connected to campaigns to ensure proper functionality, testing, and a consistent donor experience.
• Support content implementation for the World Challenge app, monthly newsletter, website, and other digital channels as needed.

Collaboration

• Serve as a key creative and production partner to the Marketing Specialist, translating marketing strategy into designed and deliverable email, digital, and mail campaigns.

• Coordinate with the Social Media Director and other members of the Marketing Team to maintain consistent messaging and creative across channels.

• Work collaboratively with writers, designers, and project leads to complete projects accurately and on schedule.

** Qualifications **

• Spiritual Alignment: Agreement with and commitment to the World Challenge, Inc. Statement of Faith and mission.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in graphic design, email marketing, digital communications, or web content management.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop required; working knowledge of HTML, CSS, WordPress, and Elementor preferred.
• Skills: Strong visual judgment, attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Equipment: Proficiency with standard computer and office technology.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Schedule: Regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Periodic evening or weekend work may be required based on ministry, campaign, or event needs.
• Environment: Modern, climate-controlled office environment.
• Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary office work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Regular breaks and meal periods are provided.
