LPN/Paramedic/Medical Associate

Summary The Medical Associate I performs medical histories and physicals on donors to qualify them for eligibility and ensure donor safety. Candidates are responsible for duties related to donation collections and supporting the medical director and donor center management. Travel This position may require up to 10% travel over the course of a year. Responsibilities This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, standard documentation practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, Good Accounting Practices (GAAP) and other regulatory guidance as applicable. Perform evaluations of medical history interview screening of potential donors to ensure continued donor suitability. Complete and document screening to ensure suitability requirements are met for donation collections; perform phlebotomy. Perform and document physical examinations as required by SOPs. Administer donor consent. Assist with mobilization and additional programs as needed. Manage donor incidences including donor red cell loss, adverse reactions, and behavioral issues. Provide donor education and health counseling to donors. Maintain and ensure sanitation of equipment and work areas. Support daily, weekly, and monthly activities and assist in the maintenance of site operational records. Work closely with Regulatory and Quality teams to ensure site compliance. Aid with continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a thorough understanding and help ensure compliance with SOPs, State and Federal regulations, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP standards to ensure facility compliance. Qualifications Required educational background, certifications, and skills for the role. Education and Experience Licensed or certified in the state of employment as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (or equivalent), Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic or Registered Nurse. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPR certification. Language Skills Good oral and written communication. Mathematical Skills Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, and proportions to practical situations. Perform routine calculations as directed. Solve practical problems and handle variable situations with limited standardization. Interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Other Skills and Abilities Proficiency in standard computer software such as Microsoft Office. Work effectively in a laboratory team environment. Troubleshoot methods and instrument issues as needed. Follow standard operating procedures. Physical Demands The role requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, hearing, smelling, and displaying manual dexterity. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Work Environment A full‑time Monday through Friday schedule with general business hours and occasional overtime as needed and approved. Work will be performed in a professional office environment using standard office equipment. Personal protective equipment may be required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, biohazards, flammable liquids, radiation, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate but may be louder at times, requiring hearing protection.
