Our client is an established automotive manufacturing and remanufacturing organization producing components for OEM and aftermarket customers. The company offers a hands-on production environment focused on quality, continuous improvement, employee development, and workplace safety.

We are seeking a hands-on Floor Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing activities and lead a production team of approximately 5-12 employees. This individual will be responsible for keeping production on schedule, monitoring quality and productivity, coaching employees, and helping resolve equipment and process issues.


This is a manufacturing leadership role rather than a warehouse supervisory position. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, process-minded, and comfortable spending the majority of the day on the production floor. Supervisors will rotate through different areas of the facility over time to develop a strong understanding of the entire manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and train production employees while maintaining a positive and accountable work environment.
• Assign daily work and ensure production activities remain on schedule.
• Monitor productivity, material usage, scrap, downtime, and other production metrics.
• Assist with equipment setup and help troubleshoot mechanical or process-related issues.
• Coordinate with Maintenance when equipment repairs or additional support are required.
• Partner with Quality to address production concerns and ensure products meet established standards.
• Identify workflow or process issues and help implement practical improvements.
• Manage routine employee matters such as timekeeping, scheduling, overtime, and performance feedback.
• Ensure team members understand and consistently follow production procedures.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate production information using company computer systems.
• Reinforce safety requirements and ensure employees follow established procedures and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing or production experience.
• Previous supervisory, team-lead, or similar leadership experience required.
• Direct experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand equipment and production processes.
• Strong process-oriented mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Comfortable being hands-on and highly visible on the production floor.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn internal production systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgment and ability to make timely decisions when production issues arise.
• Flexible and adaptable within a changing manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
