About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Minimum 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience required Description: The position requires working in an Emergency Room setting. Candidates will float between multiple facilities as needed. Traveling staff must have their own vehicles. Natural hair color is required and facial piercings are not permitted. Men must be clean-shaven for fit tests. All RNs must complete a skills lab during orientation with a pass/fail assessment. A study guide will be provided for the skills assessment. RNs are expected to perform Foley catheter insertion and manage port-a-cath insertions if applicable. Maintaining a sterile field is crucial and non-compliance may lead to termination. The facility is equipped with 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds, including Trauma bays. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. The Emergency Room utilizes an electronic medical record system. Charge nurses will oversee tasks and maintain a manageable patient load. Nurse aides will assist with patient care as needed. Weekend shifts are expected based on unit discretion. Scrub color is navy blue. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7, as well as pharmacy services. Common diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatric cases requiring transfer. The Emergency Room sees approximately 88,000 patients annually. The cancellation policy allows for cancellation of up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
