Respiratory Therapist Position

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Lafayette, IN where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role will support ICU, Med Surg, ER, and NICU populations and requires proficiency with ventilators, heated high flow devices, and emergency airway assistance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required.
• Minimum one year of experience as an RRT with acute care exposure (Med Surg, ER, ICU).
• Skills and equipment experience: mechanical ventilators (including PB, Drager V500, Hamilton C-transport), V60 BiPAP, heated high flow nasal cannula, oscillators, jet ventilators, nitric oxide, bubble CPAP, and transport ventilators.
• Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies and proficient EMR charting (EPIC experience preferred).
• Ability to work in Level 3 NICU and manage neonatal respiratory needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a Level 3 NICU environment. (Preferred)
• Familiarity with unit workflows in ICU/CCU and Emergency Care. (Preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage high patient loads and prioritize effectively. (Preferred)

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 06:00–18:30.
• Schedule: 36-hour workweek schedules.
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) coverage.
