Part Time Patient Customer Service Representative

Job Summary Location: Ascension IL Presence St. Joseph, Chicago Shift: Part‑time, PRN as needed As a Customer Service Representative at R1, you will assist patients during hospital check‑in, ensuring accurate and compassionate registration. Responsibilities Use computers and answer phones to collect patient information in a busy environment. Input details accurately across multiple screens between physician and nurse check‑ins. Work with multiple programs and type as quickly as patients talk. Manage interruptions from clinicians for emergent care while maintaining registration flow. Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients who may be ill or worried. Ask follow‑up questions and build rapport to ease anxiety. Operate in a fast‑paced, on‑feet environment assisting with registration. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Excellent customer service experience. Demonstrated ability to multitask, learn new technology quickly, and type accurately. Responsibility to pass background check, drug test, and maintain up‑to‑date vaccinations. Compensation Base pay range: $16.12 – $23.21 per hour, adjusted for role, experience, location and skills.
