Our organization is in search of a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Cardiac Surgeon to enhance our expanding academic cardiac surgery program. This role presents a chance to join a well-established, collaborative team within a healthcare system that prioritizes clinical excellence, education, and the growth of its programs.
The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive experience in adult cardiac surgery, covering areas such as coronary revascularization, valvular disease, aortic conditions, and complex surgical interventions. The selected individual will actively contribute to the advancement of the Cardiac Surgery program while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care.
This position includes an academic appointment, with rank based on experience, and offers significant opportunities for involvement in teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical collaboration.
Practice Highlights:A well-established and growing referral base for cardiac surgery
Strong support from cardiology and cardiac anesthesia teams
A diverse range of elective and urgent cardiac surgery cases
Comprehensive services in adult cardiac surgery, including:
Coronary artery bypass grafting
Valve repair and replacement
Aortic surgical procedures
Transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs)
Opportunities to engage in program development, quality enhancement, and clinical research
Access to state-of-the-art operating rooms and advanced perioperative technology
Modern surgical facilities and a comprehensive electronic medical record system
Teaching roles available for residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers
MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience following fellowship training
Research experience and teaching capabilities to qualify for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
Leadership qualities are highly regarded
Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care
Proven experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures
Ability to provide a current operative case log
Capability to teach, mentor, and work alongside medical students, residents, surgery fellows, and other healthcare professionals
Eligibility for academic appointment and medical licensure in New York State
A competitive base salary range of $458,000 - $635,000 based on academic rank, with additional incentive pay after the first year of employment
