You’ll have autonomy in your role but will also work together as part of a collective credit team, to provide and receive support. As a Credit Analyst you will assess the creditworthiness of potential commercial loan customers, including payment terms and credit limits, and identify special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment. Completing loan applications, including credit analyses and credit memorandums, and submitting to loan committees for approval is a primary function of your role. You’ll gain a better understanding of the overall operation of a community bank as well as play a critical part coordinating the commercial loan credit approval process, including processing credit applications, and initiating inquiries into customers’ bank and trade references. You will generate financial ratios to evaluate customers’ financial status, compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations. Your role is critical as you monitor the credit risk associated with customer accounts, establish and maintain customer credit files/database, and review customers’ credit histories. As a credit expert, you will also assist with the establishment and implementation of credit policy, prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money, evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on applicable data. Ideal Candidate One or more years of commercial credit analyst (bank) experience required. Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university preferred, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Success in this role has a strong correlation with a team member’s commitment to excellence and high standards, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills, and strong mathematical skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, a cute attention to detail, and possess good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Must be versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Ability to research and evaluate data to make informed decisions and solve problems. Sense of discretion and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information. Tech savvy and a quick learner. You’ll be using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Suntell document imaging system, and our core banking system (Fiserv) daily. We’ll train in areas where there may be gaps in bank experience or technology; we’re looking for someone with a strong willingness and desire to learn. Occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc. Occasionally required to move items up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Emotional Demands Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual. Ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision. Ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and/or interruptions and multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients. Ability to perform in situations requiring speed and deadlines. Ability to work as an integral part of the team.
