Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Reston, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care to post-surgical cardiac patients in a dedicated ICU setting. The position supports the launch of a new cardiac surgery program and requires experienced professionals adept at complex patient management.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience caring for cardiac surgery patients with direct primary recovery, certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); additional training in balloon pump, Impella, Hemosphere or Acumen preferred; must have current ACLS certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with new cardiac surgery program launch; familiarity with Meditech Expanse documentation system; ability to float to other units with similar ratios.
• Additional Information: This position involves working with state-of-the-art equipment and technology in a hospital setting that values staff expertise, Schedule flexibility, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Candidates should be comfortable adhering to unit-specific policies and guidelines, and possess strong patient care skills for high-acuity situations.
