PERMIT TECHNICIAN I

Position Overview This is sub-professional and technical permitting work in reviewing construction plans and permit applications, and issuing residential and commercial development permits. Salary Mobile County: $48,091 – $76,882 City of Mobile: $40,528 – $64,790 City of Saraland: $44,658 – $71,394 Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the GED test, preferably supplemented by college, trade or vocational school coursework in engineering, drafting, architecture or related field. A minimum of three years of experience reading and interpreting construction, engineering, building or related plans; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements. Special Requirements Must possess or obtain certification as a Permit Technician from the International Code Council within three years from date of appointment.
