Key Roles/Responsibilities Costpoint Billing Analyst (Accounting II) LBR seeks a detail‑oriented Costpoint Billing Analyst to support billing operations for government contracts, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and cost‑reimbursable programs. This role is ideal for an early‑career accounting or finance professional looking to deepen their expertise in government contracting and financial analysis. This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will work under general supervision at our Advanced Technology Research Facility in Frederick, Maryland. What You’ll Do Prepare and review complex invoices in compliance with customer and contractual requirements. Analyze unbilled receivables and resolve billing discrepancies using Costpoint reports. Research and respond to internal and external billing inquiries. Collaborate with project teams, contracts, and accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely billing. Support collections efforts and help resolve outstanding issues. Additional Responsibilities Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger analysis. Prepare journal entries and financial reports. Evaluate and enter contract modifications and assess their accounting impact. Perform administrative responsibilities as necessary. Contribute to special projects and process improvements. Basic Qualifications Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Minimum of two (2) years of accounting‑related experience. Strong data entry and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications U.S. Government Contract experience, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Preferred: a minimum of two (2) years of general accounting with responsibility for general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, cost accounting, or accounts receivable. Previous experience with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Strong problem‑solving skills, research and resolution skills, and data analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate‑level Excel skills. Current Public Trust clearance.
