Government Contracts Counsel
Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Government Contracts Counsel with 5–8 years of post-JD experience to join its sophisticated Defense, National Security & Government Contracts practice in Washington, DC .
The ideal candidate will have strong experience advising clients on federal procurement matters, bid protests, contract disputes, investigations, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Responsibilities- Advise clients on federal government contracts and procurement matters .
- Handle bid protests and matters under the Contract Disputes Act (CDA) .
- Counsel clients regarding the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement requirements.
- Conduct and assist with internal investigations and related government contracts matters.
- Research complex legal and regulatory issues and provide strategic advice.
- Draft and review pleadings, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- 5–8 years of post-JD experience , excluding judicial clerkships.
- Demonstrated experience in government contracts law .
- Experience with bid protests, CDA matters, internal investigations, and federal procurement issues .
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission and membership in good standing, or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar .
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment .
