About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist (Computed Tomography) Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ARRT (CT) Must-Have: Experience with biopsies, drains, interventional radiology, and stroke imaging Description: The department has two scanners available. Technologists may need to float to transport and assist in other departments as necessary. They may also float to other areas in radiology if they are certified in those areas. Common types of imaging and studies performed include inpatient, outpatient, and ER cases, CTA, biopsies, stroke imaging, and coronary CTAs. On average, 45 scans are performed each day. The department utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and PACS. The main equipment includes Siemens 64 slice CT scanners and Siemens 40 slice CT scanners with fluoroscopy capabilities. A supervisor is present on day shifts. There are no Registered Radiology Assistants utilized. Radiologists are in-house from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, while after-hours images are sent to teleradiology. IV starts are required; candidates should be willing to learn if they do not have this experience. The scheduling of shifts includes 6:30-15:00, 7:30-16:00, and 12-hour shifts from 08:00-20:30, 07:00-19:00, or 19:00-07:00. The coordinator and supervisor create the schedules. Weekend requirements are every other weekend to every third weekend for 12-hour shifts. Holidays are also required. Scrubs can be in any color, and are not provided. There is one week of unit-specific orientation. Attributes that will contribute to success in this role include teamwork, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. Candidates should be proactive in getting tasks done. Staff is expected to be knowledgeable and friendly. The radius rule is 50 miles, and candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities. Requests for time off must be provided upfront, with a limit of seven days or fewer per 13-week contract. Cancellation policy includes four shifts per contract, or three shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks. Charting system utilized is EPIC. A BSN is not required. Successful candidates must hold the necessary licenses. The care setting is acute with a trauma level of 2. The division pertains to allied health roles. Shift notes include every other weekend, nights, and being first to float.
