Accountant | Charlotte, NC
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's accounting team and take ownership of employee expense reporting, corporate card reconciliations, and travel and entertainment (T&E) accounting. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience using Concur or a similar expense management system and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, audit, and process employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
- Administer and support the company's expense reporting platform, preferably Concur.
- Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely reimbursement of employee expenses.
- Partner with employees and managers to answer questions regarding travel and expense policies.
- Monitor and identify policy violations while recommending process improvements.
- Prepare journal entries related to travel, entertainment, and employee expenses.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing expense-related documentation.
- Analyze expense trends and provide reporting to finance leadership.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable and other finance teams to improve efficiency and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting, expenses, accounts payable, or related finance experience.
- Experience with SAP Concur strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of expense reporting, corporate card programs, and T&E policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service mindset.
Compensation and Schedule
- $80,000 - $85,000 with an annual bonus
- Onsite, Monday - Friday
