Position Summary:
As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Operating within ASAM levels 1.0 (Outpatient), 2.1 (Intensive Outpatient Program - IOP), and 2.5 (Partial Hospitalization Program - PHP), you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment plans. Your efforts will support clients on their path to recovery, ensuring all interventions are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with the latest clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments to inform personalized treatment strategies.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Facilitate engaging, evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions focused on recovery and relapse prevention.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid, VDBHDS, and DMAS standards.
• Participate actively in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond effectively to client crises, providing supportive interventions under supervision of the Clinical Director.
• Ensure all services are delivered with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach, adhering to ASAM Criteria and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
• Current Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential, or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience providing counseling to individuals with Substance Use Disorders.
• Strong knowledge of addiction recovery principles, evidence-based practices, and relapse prevention strategies.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation, treatment planning, and use of electronic health records.
• Ability to manage caseloads efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
