CDL-A Regional Driver

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL-A Regional Driver to transport nursery stock, landscaping materials, and related products throughout the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding regions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while providing exceptional customer service. Drivers can expect regional routes with regular home time and the opportunity to work with a team dedicated to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations.
• Transport nursery stock, trees, shrubs, plants, and related products to customers, distribution centers, and job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is safe and roadworthy.
• Secure and protect loads to prevent damage during transport.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed while maintaining product quality and appearance.
• Verify delivery paperwork, obtain customer signatures, and accurately complete required documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and route updates.
• Maintain electronic logs and other required records in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service during all deliveries and pickups.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, delays, or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
• Acceptable driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Previous regional driving experience preferred.
• Experience hauling agricultural, nursery, landscaping, or horticultural products is a plus.
• Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS systems, and mobile communication devices.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to climb into and out of truck cabs and trailers.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical loading/unloading tasks as needed.

Work Schedule

• Regional routes throughout Virginia and surrounding states.
• Overnight travel may be required.
• Home time provided on a regular basis, depending on route assignments.
• Seasonal overtime and weekend work may be required during peak business periods.
