Job Description Responsibilities will include patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings as well as supervision/teaching of Rheumatology Fellows, Residents, and Medical Students. Along with General Rheumatology clinics, successful applicants will be expected to participate in a weekly half-day multidisciplinary clinic specializing in either muscle disease or vasculitis and to collaborate with a basic scientist in the capacity of "clinical mentor" for one or more research trainees in our NIH-funded T32 training program. An interest in translational research is highly desirable. We enjoy a collaborative relationship with Shands Hospital and pride ourselves in professional and cooperative interdisciplinary care. Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research tracks within a Clinical Translational Science Institute(CTSI), formal mentorship programs, and supported opportunities for teaching and research. These faculty positions will be based at our University teaching hospital with a potential option for part-time patient care duties at our immediately adjacent VA Hospital. Both hospitals serve a designated shortage area and/or a medically undeserved area/population. Requisite attributes include a commitment to service, a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to train tomorrow's doctors.
