To learn more, visit About the Provider Payment Modeling (PPM) Team The Provider Payment Modeling (PPM) team partners with state Medicaid agencies and other public‑sector health and human services organizations to design, analyze, and implement complex provider payment and financing programs. The team supports initiatives across the full payment lifecycle, including policy analysis, financial modeling, implementation support, and ongoing program operations. PPM projects are analytically rigorous, policy‑driven, and highly collaborative, often spanning multiple states and provider types. PPM Product Line Offerings The PPM team delivers services across several core product areas: Cost Reporting & Supplemental Payments: Design and administration of Medicaid cost reports, desk reviews and audits, and modeling of supplemental payment programs such as UPL and directed payments. Rate Setting: Development and evaluation of provider reimbursement methodologies, including cost and utilization analysis and documentation to support regulatory and federal approval. Payment Innovation: Analysis and support for alternative and performance‑based payment approaches that promote quality, efficiency, and program sustainability. Actuarial Services: Provides actuarially sound financial modeling and analysis to support Medicaid and other public‑sector health programs, including medical benefit consulting, cost‑driver and risk analysis, self‑funded plan reporting, and integration of actuarial insights into rate setting and other provider payment initiatives. Role Overview Consultants on the PPM team support both the technical and operational components of provider payment initiatives. Consultants work as part of project teams and are expected to manage defined workstreams, contribute to high‑quality client deliverables, and collaborate closely with senior staff and clients. Typical Responsibilities Support data collection, validation, and analysis related to provider payment models, cost reporting, orrate‑settinginitiatives Develop andmaintainfinancial models, analytical tools, trackers, and supporting documentation Draftclient‑readymaterials, including reports, exhibits, spreadsheets, and written summaries Participate in client meetings and internal project meetings, includingnote‑taking,action‑itemtracking, andfollow‑upcoordination Work with project managers and senior team members to meet project milestones, quality standards, and client expectations Contribute to internal process improvement efforts, documentation, and onboarding resources Qualifications Bachelor’s degreerequired(Master’s degree in public policy, public health, economics, finance, or a related field preferred) Experience or strong interest in Medicaid, healthcare financeand policy, orpublic‑sectorconsulting Strong analytical, quantitative, andproblem‑solvingskills Proficiencyin Excel and comfort working with large or complex datasets Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative,team‑basedenvironment The above is intended to describe the general contents and requirements of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. Compensation Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave. Range: $70,100 - $95,000 PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization, including H‑1B sponsorship.
