Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day shift travel assignment requiring 3+ years of experience and RRT certification at a tertiary, teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma status.

Job Details

• Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs,
• Patient ratios of 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care,
• Uses ventilators including Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm,
• EPIC EMR used,
• Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM,
• Every other weekend required,
• On-call rotation required, approximately one call shift per month with 2-hour response time,
• Float requirements include NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care,
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed,

Job Requirements

• RRT certification required (license required if applicable),
• BLS required,
• ACLS preferred,
• NRP required for NICU assignments,
• Minimum 3+ years of respiratory therapy experience required,
• Tertiary, teaching hospital experience required,
• Level 1 trauma center experience required,
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred,
• EPIC EMR experience,
• Valid Driver's License required for consideration,
• 2 professional references required,

• Work as part of a respiratory therapy team covering varied patient populations across the facility,
• Flexible, team-oriented communication skills valued,
• Scrubs provided or flexible dress code,
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit,
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion,
• Local candidates accepted, though local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions,
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) will be considered local,
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this upon consideration
