Radioactive Waste Technician

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician for our Somerset, NJ team. This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer-service focused individual will be responsible for working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs. Responsibilities Maintain good attendance and punctuality Flexibility with working schedule as start and end times may vary Develop a strong working knowledge of local site requirements and state and local regulations Assist EHS team as requested Participate in radiological focused training and development Handle chemicals and hazardous waste in small and large containers Handle low-level radioactive waste Utilize a Geiger counter as well as other tools to assess levels of radiation in industrial waste streams Perform onsite waste management routine & regulatory inspections Prepare and manage routine waste shipments including creating all transportation documents as required by regulations Willingness to wear a respirator when necessary Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service Maintain professional attitude, high energy, and high-level communication skills when dealing directly with client representatives Basic Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and clean driving record Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field 1+ years of customer service experience Self-motivated with the desire to learn Eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship Reliable form of transportation Willingness to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC) Will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis Ability to work overtime when needed Role is safety-sensitive; may handle hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment Preferred Requirements Prior relevant industry experience Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification Benefits Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401(k) contribution Generous tuition reimbursement program Extensive safety training for applicable positions with opportunities for external trainings and certifications Mentorship & Career Succession Planning Relocation Opportunities Auto/Home insurance discounts Pet assistance discount plans Discounted movie passes Pay New Jersey Pay: $25 – $30 USD EEO Statement Triumvirate Environmental is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
