Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week assignment in a busy Level II trauma center requiring 3+ years of OR experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a busy Level II trauma center with 8 ORs
• Perform scrub and circulating functions for patients undergoing surgical and invasive procedures
• Schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• No floating to other units required
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Supported by PCTs, 3 supervisors, and team leads
• Sky blue scrub color required

Requirements

• Active RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (TX or compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA accepted), obtained within 30 days of start
• ACLS certification required within 180 days of start (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing required
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
• Preferred experience in Orthopedics, trauma, General/GYN, Urology, and DaVinci robotics
• Vascular and CVOR experience a strong plus
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition throughout the surgical process
• Directly assist operating physicians with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for procedures
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate under facility radius rule
