Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Clear Lake

Purpose Statement:
We unite to become obedient believers, to worship God, serve others, and see
lives changed through the love of Jesus Christ!

Our church has been around for nearly 70 years, ministering to our local and surrounding
communities in the name of Jesus Christ! That’s our focus and our priority: to live out the Great
Commandment and Great Commission Jesus gave us.

Nestled in Skagit Valley in the Pacific Northwest, our church was started in 1951 by families
who moved to Washington from North Carolina and the surrounding area to work in the logging
industry. On Sunday mornings, during our traditional worship service, we have 30-40 members
in the congregation. We are part of the Mount Baker Baptist Association, the Northwest Baptist
Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We participate in the Cooperative Program
that supports the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board, and we
financially support the Northwest Impact offering.

Our doctrine is the Baptist Faith & Message (2000). Church constitution, bylaws, & articles of
incorporation are available on request.

We are seeking a bi-vocational or part-time pastor who is devoted to following God’s call
in his life by leading our church in biblical teaching, discipleship, evangelism, and
mission work within our community.

Responsibilities & qualities we are looking for in a pastor:
 A man that has a heart to shepherd others by guiding members with prayerful discipleship
and biblical teaching, as well as sharing the Gospel with new and non-believers through
evangelism.
 A man that has the willingness to lead others, will collaboratively support others in
leadership positions within the congregation, and spiritually guide those in need of pastoral
care and compassion.
 Prepare biblically sound sermons for Sunday morning worship services, as well as lead
Bible study on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
 Provide visitation to members and their family that are sick, hospitalized, or are unable to
leave their homes.
 Perform baptisms, dedications, weddings, funerals and memorial services.
