Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Acute Dialysis RN requiring prior HD, CRRT, and TPE experience plus a FL or compact RN license for an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Acute care hospital Dialysis unit performing HD and TPE both in-unit and at bedside, with PD and CRRT performed at bedside
• Average daily census of 30 patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Requires every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, as determined by unit needs
• On-call required, including every other Saturday and variable scheduled Sunday call
• Float required within scope to Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera facilities based on home base assignment
• Sunrise charting system used, no prior experience required
• 1:2 patient ratio

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• 1:2 patient ratio experience required
• Prismaflex CRRT/TPE experience required
• Amia peritoneal cycler-CCPD experience required
• Experience administering blood/blood products during treatment required
• Experience with Baxter, Fresenius J/K, and Gambro equipment required
• Experience initiating and setting up dialysis treatment required
• Experience with machine alarm troubleshooting procedures required
• Experience with post-dialysis treatment procedures required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with symptom management required
• Ability to cannulate AV fistula and AV graft
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Level II Adult Trauma acute care facility with 514 staffed beds
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Solid-colored scrubs required with matching top and bottom, no mixing, no logos or prints
• Free parking with decal provided at orientation
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former employees or contract staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same travel rate with no radius restriction
• Finalized RTO must be submitted for consideration and will not be accepted after an offer is made
• Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
