Physician Assistant (PD) Days - ICU Physician - Rahway, NJJob Title: Physician AssistantLocation: Observation AssociatesDepartment Name: ICU Physician RahwayShift: DayPay Range: $57.69 - $91.34 per hourJob Summary:The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider Physician Assistant will deliver health care in the critical care settings to include, but not limited to, the recognition and management of common, critical illnesses and injuries; and the provisioning of care across the health care continuum with emphasis on early detection, treatment, and prevention of diseasesEssential Functions:Obtains and records patient history, Performs physical and medical screening examinations, Completes diagnostic and therapeutic studies, Orders diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or other therapies as appropriate, Establishes diagnostic decision-making and initiates a treatment plan, which may include ordering medications, additional therapeutic modalities, etcCoordinates patient care with other members of the health care teamInitiates consultation requests to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient managementInstructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health, referring patients to appropriate specialists/resourcesCompletes charting in a thorough and timely mannerAdequately manages patient flow in the ICUPerforms procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physicianWorks within legal, regulatory, and ethical practice standardsActively participates in department staff meetings and risk management educationCompletes required courses, i,e, HIPAA, EMTALA and other CME/CEU requirementsOther duties as assigned, including but not limited to academic lectures and / or quality improvement projectsJob Requirements:Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Physician Assistant Certification, Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners, Physician Assistant Advisory requiredBasic Life Support and Advanced Life Support Certifications, New Jersey CDS and DEA Licensure, Active membership in a professional organization preferred, Ability and willingness accommodate scheduling needs including working extended hours, weekdays, overnights, weekends, and holidaysKnowledge and Skills:Medical and broad based clinical critical care knowledge, strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management skills, and ability to effectively and successfully work with all ICU and hospital employeesHow to Apply:Please contact APP recruiter Richard "RJ" Schaller for additional information - View email address on click.appcast.io
